You are correct - but he'd need to be going fast enough!

Specifically, he'd need to be going fast enough to vastly overpower the static frictive force any rug could output - even one made of sandpaper. Ergo, he'd either fall off during acceleration, or, if he's on it during flight, he'd fall off during the loop.

This is cute...I think that if they can enchant it to fly then they can probably enchant it to hold you on! Or you know....you could sew on straps...I wonder if that would feel like getting stitches to the carpet....are they sentient do you think? *ponders*
